Zimbwean- the suffering continues
I am a Zimbabwean, qualified and experienced PA, yet no matter how hard I try splashing my CVs all over Cape Town, all I get is very good well wishes. I think most organisations would love to employ us but maybe feel like they are not being patricotic enough if they empoly a foreigner as oppossed to a local. While Home Affaiirs says that we can work and study here, nothing really comes out of it because although you stand forever in the queues, nothing really seems to be moving with regards to the new permits that are suppossed to be issued for six months. So where does that leave a person like me, with all my qualifications I have to compete with locals here for menial jobs whic become scarce in winter and everyday I think of what a waste my skills are coming to and whether there is hope.
