Do new residents need to register?
Recently moved to SA, and renting a house. We have our visas, but do we also need to register with the municipality or local police (as is common in Europe)? If so, where?

You can register with your own embassy - Home Affairs would have your details when you came in the country, whether it's on a holiday or work or study permit. But other than that, can't think of any other agency to register with...

Thanks - in the Netherlands you need to register in person with the municipality. Living in Germany, the police came to visit me once as I hadn't registered my new address.
