Hi EveroneI had been staying and working in South Africa for more than 2 years now. I had been on a deputation here on company business. Now 2 months before my visa was to expire, my company applied for a waiver. They then suspected that the waiver will come after long so they applied for a fresh business visa for me 15 days before my work permit expired. I am still awaiting both the waiver and business visa. Its been 2 months since the business visa was applied and we haven\'t even received it. It seems the delay is because of the strike. Now I want to urgently travel back to my home country and will have overstayed 2 months when I will go. Please let me know if I will be subjected some kind of fine by immigration guys at the airport while I am going back. If yes what will be the amount of fine be and will I have to pay the fine on the spot or can it be paid in the home country at the South Africa embassy/mission. Please note I do not have any intension of coming back to SA in the near future not atleast for the next 3-4 years.Answers/Suggestions are highly appreciated.Thanks.
