Overstayed Visa
Hi, everyone I came to SA on a 3 month holiday visa. I was meant to leave but then I fell pregnant. My boyfriend is SA And he thought it was best to stay here, now I have overstayed by two months and I would like to some how be legal here seeing as though we plan on living here for a least two years. I am American, I really don\'t want this to mess up my traveling ability\'s. please if anyone can help, I would really appreciate it.

Oh and I am also looking into opening my own business, or going back to school, but I am not sure how that would work seeing that I am legal.

Please help

Hi, you should be able to get a domestic partnership visa with your boyfriend (assuming you are living together and can show that you share expenses, etc. and are in a committed relationship). Any immigration consultant can help you with it, although like all the visas in SA, it is a slog to go through the process. You will have to pay a fine for overstaying your visa of R1000-R3000 before you can get the new visa, but once you apply for it, you can be legal pending the approval as long as you get a valid tourist visa. good luck
