Weekend getaway near Joburg?
We're looking for a weekend getaway not far from Joburg - thinking Clarins or Dullstrom...would like upmarket place, can be self-catering or B&B or boutique hotel, should be kid friendly. Any suggestions?

Dullstroom is nice, but a bit quiet.  Not so great for kids unless they like to fly fish.

 Am going to Clarens next weekend.  Will report back.

The new Protea hotel in Clarens is nice..and very child friendly. Its also a nice location with easy access to Golden Gate National Park

Spent a few days in Clarens over the holidays. It's a cute town with white water rafting and horse backriding and that kind of thing. Great little B&B we stayed at called Millpond House - www.millpondhouse.co.za.
